Despite countless diet programs, the number of people with weight problems continues to rise. 55% of German women and 65% of German men are overweight, and the trend is rising. Recent medical research shows that excess weight, and especially visceral fat, can be particularly dangerous to health.


Internal abdominal fat is associated with an increased risk of various chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc., the so-called metabolic syndrome. Therefore, research into effective and sustainable methods for weight and abdominal fat reduction is of great importance.

In collaboration with the GfBE (Society for Movement and Nutrition Analysis) and myline (leading weight loss program in the fitness industry), the health center wants to prove that through healthy nutrition and strength training, in addition to overall weight loss, visceral abdominal fat can also be reduced, thus improving health.

The study is now seeking 50 untrained participants aged 18 and over to participate. Jasmin Römer, a nutritionist at the health center, will personally guide the participants through a weight-loss program suitable for everyday use for four weeks. In addition, all participants will receive a customized training program to activate the body's largest fat-burning organ: the muscles. "Burn calories through proper muscle training instead of constantly eating less. Proper muscle training means expending maximum energy in a short period of time (just 2-3 hours per week) to permanently accelerate your metabolism. The result: Instead of eating less while losing weight, you can eat more!" says Römer.

Body awareness and health improve in four weeks

"We're interested in finding out exactly what participants can achieve within four weeks. Participants can lose between four and six kilos during this time. Body fat, especially visceral abdominal fat, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure can be regulated within this time, general well-being improves, and even minor aches and pains in the back, neck, joints, etc. can disappear."

The cost price for the study, including four weeks of training at the health center, a comprehensive InBody body analysis at the beginning and end of the study, and the study guide with many delicious recipe suggestions for weight loss, is only €49. Our members pay €35.

  • Who can participate in the study?

    Anyone, regardless of fitness level or age group, can participate in the study. There is no age limit; even people under 25 are welcome.

  • Can I participate as a non-member?

    You don't need to be a member to participate in the study. Non-members should plan approximately 70 minutes for the initial session, which includes admission and an equipment introduction. •Bring workout clothes •Large towel •€1 for the locker in the changing room •Possibly a water bottle for the water dispenser

  • How often is the training carried out?

    Training should take place at least twice a week and is individually tailored to your needs and any pre-existing medical conditions.

  • What does the nutrition section of the study include?

    For the duration of the study, there are prescription guidelines that should be followed for optimal results. You should also watch four videos about the study.

  • When can I start the study?

    The study extends over a period of 4 weeks and can be started individually, although care should be taken to ensure that there are no vacation periods in between, for example.

  • For technical reasons, participation is limited to persons weighing a maximum of 145 kg.

  • Are there any contraindications?

    If you have certain illnesses or conditions, you should always consult a doctor before starting a diet or dietary change. These include: • Diabetes mellitus • Cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure or after a heart attack • Kidney disease • Liver disease • Metabolic disorders such as gout • Digestive tract diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis • Eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia • Thyroid disorders, especially hypothyroidism • Pregnancy and breastfeeding • If you are taking medication that can affect weight

  • What do I need to consider when taking the InBody measurement?

    • People with pacemakers are not allowed to perform the measurement!
    • Carry out the measurement on an empty stomach, as food intake affects blood circulation and thus the measured values. Normal blood flow usually returns after about 3 hours.
    • Go to the toilet before measuring, as food and fluid intake before the measurement can affect your weight and therefore the measurements.
    • Wear light clothing when taking an InBody measurement, as heavy clothing can increase your overall body weight and affect the results.
    • Take the measurement before exercising, as blood flow and body temperature increase during exercise, which affects the impedance values and can lead to inaccurate measurements.
    • Take the measurement before showering, as showering or bathing temporarily increases body temperature and causes the body to dilate the skin's blood vessels, which can also lead to inaccurate measurements.
    • No sauna the day before
    • No major training sessions the day before
    • Do not take measurements during the menstrual phase, as the hormone progesterone builds up and retains body water during this time, which can affect body composition values.
