HEALTH CENTER IN WELLCOM

Holistic health promotion under one roof

We introduce ourselves

The physio and sports therapy center in Großkrotzenburg has existed since September 2003. The center is the region's specialist for the rehabilitation of chronic illnesses and acute injuries in the orthopedic, surgical and neurological fields, in matters of prevention, health promotion and performance diagnostics, as well as company health promotion.
Analogous to the goals of the PSZ, namely the holistic and cross-disciplinary care and treatment of members and patients, the health center in the Wellcom, on 600 square meters, is also intended to offer the employees at the Hanau-Wolfgang location an optimal framework for health and fitness and to ensure well-being.

concept

The concept provides for the health center's fields of activity to be divided into four according to the different levels of action that are necessary for holistic health promotion: training, prevention, therapy and care. The good thing is that your employer also pays!
OUR SERVICE OFFER

The training area

The training area embodies the core of the health center. Members can undertake health-oriented training here on a voluntary basis. This area includes a range of equipment consisting of conventional sequence training equipment and a computer-aided training circuit, as well as free weights for strengthening large and small muscle groups, but also a small equipment area for targeted functional and stabilization training. In the training area there is also an IronQube or a functional area for training with your own body weight.
In this way, the health center combines tried and tested with new, innovative trends to get employees excited about sport and an active lifestyle.
The equipment park can be used "paper-free", meaning that planning, documentation and control of the training are done digitally with your own company ID card.
For employees who prefer to see the training as a joint event, special group courses are also offered in addition to the classic courses. These are possible in small groups of 4-8 people, who are not supervised in the course room, but in the equipment area.
In the endurance area, cardio equipment such as bicycle ergometers and crosswalkers are used.
The training area is looked after by expert staff who, among other things, provide instructions on how to use the equipment, develop training plans, provide support with the exercises and act as contact persons for all training and health-related questions.

TRAINING

The area of therapy

In addition to training, the health center also offers an extensive spectrum of therapy on its premises, more precisely physiotherapy and physical therapy. Specializing in traumatological, orthopedic and surgical therapy, the employee can have almost all key musculoskeletal complaints and illnesses treated by trained physiotherapists and massage therapists. In one of the three cabins, every 25 minutes, the most important therapeutic measures can be taken for pain in the active and passive musculoskeletal system, back and intervertebral disc problems, jaw joint dysfunction, knee and hip joint problems, but also after accidents involving passive or active structures (e.g. shoulder dislocation, Ankle sprain, partial or torn cruciate ligaments, meniscus problems). This includes physiotherapy, manual therapy, classic massage therapy, connective tissue massage, lymphatic drainage, heat and cold therapy. Due to the proximity to the training area and the collaboration with the sports and exercise therapy specialists, even more complex forms of therapy such as the “combined drug prescription” (“D1”) or “physical therapy on the device” (“KGG”) can be carried out without any problems. In order to offer high-quality therapy, we primarily see good therapist training as the basis. Classic quality features of a physiotherapeutic practice, such as: B. no unnecessary changes of therapists, detailed initial findings, discussion of the examination results, as well as therapeutic prognosis and final report are our top priority in everyday practice. Of course, these points should also become an important pillar of physiotherapeutic practice in the health center.
PHYSICAL THERAPY

The area of prevention

Although “voluntary training” in the health center already counts as prevention, we see the focus of this area in the subsidized prevention and health courses. The basis for the subsidy is the so-called “Päventionsparagraph” (§20 SGB V). Here, the most important risk and action areas (lack of exercise, movement and posture, obesity, cardiovascular diseases) are counteracted in a structured and controlled manner in the group. Prevention courses differ from classic fitness and gymnastics courses in four points: the qualifications of the course instructors, the fixed group, the fixed number of course units and the course structure that builds on one another with practical but also theoretical elements.
Health insurance companies subsidize participation in these courses once or twice a year with up to 100% of the course fee if the participant attends at least 80% of the course dates. The offer to take part in the prevention courses is aimed exclusively at members of the health center and is included in the membership fee for them, so there is no separate course fee. By receiving the health insurance subsidy, the annual studio contribution can be significantly reduced. This will certainly provide some employees with additional financial motivation to become a member of the health center.
In addition, concrete workplace-related measures represent another focus of the area of prevention. The aim is to strengthen the health and well-being of employees through behavior and relationship prevention in the workplace and, on the other hand, to exploit their full potential. The target group here is primarily employees who, due to socio-demographic circumstances, would not be adequately addressed by the offerings of a health center and can best be reached at their place of work.
Starting from the health center, measures such as active breaks, back training at the workplace, ergonomic checks, computer workstation programs or other specific movement training programs can be carried out in general or for specific target groups (trainees, older employees, shift workers, etc.).

The care area

Holistic, company health promotion, manifested in the health center, involves all parties involved in this process. Company health promotion (BGF) itself is only one part of the overall company health management (BGM) of individual companies. Other areas include occupational health protection (BGS) with the company medical service as well as those responsible for company reintegration (BGM) and employee advice. These parties can work together optimally in a health center and the rooms available and support each other in caring for the employees. In concrete terms, this could mean that, for example, regular health checks can be carried out by the company doctor, who is supported by the team of trainers and therapists. The rooms, especially the course room, can be used by employee support for coaching and seminars (e.g. burnout prevention, stress management, etc.). But the reintegration of sick or injured employees can also be done more effectively with the help of interdisciplinary collaboration. The advantages are comprehensive interfaces between the parties and targeted therapy measures by the same staff for each individual employee. The people involved in the rehabilitation and reintegration process can also work together directly, coordinate with one another and directly take into account the respective conditions in the workplace. This enables the employee to be reintegrated more quickly and safely. An attractive ambience, the inviting entrance and reception area, a tidy training area as well as functional but comfortable changing rooms and sanitary facilities make the health center a place where employees of all ages and constitutions are happy to use their free time to promote their health.
